Camp Lakeview’s Women’s Retreat is a weekend away from the hectic pace of life at home. It’s a time for renewal through Christian fellowship, God’s Word, and relaxation. Large group sessions will be led by a special guest speaker.
The weekend will also feature guest sectional leaders, recreation, crafts, a banquet, and more. Women of all ages are welcome! Leave the kids with Dad, and treat yourself to a weekend off!

2011 Main Speaker Dawn Schalow
The founder of “Zestful Living Ministries”, Dawn Schalow has 20 years of experience in conducting high-impact learning programs and inspiring hundreds of individuals towards zestful and faithful living. She has done a considerable amount of public speaking and has written two books that will be published in 2011.
Dawn has been a retreat facilitator and conference presenter for local, statewide, and national events, including the LWML national convention. Professionally, she currently serves as the Organization Development Specialist for ThedaCare in Appleton, WI.
Her presentations are fun and engaging, yet carry a powerful message and offer times for reflection, interactivity, and sharing with other participants. Her theme for this weekend is “Christ — Our Compass Through Change.”
Dawn is an active volunteer in the Green Bay area, where she lives with her husband, Michael, and two teenage boys. She is a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kaukauna.
Sectional Descriptions for 2011
Morning Sectionals
What Not to Wear – (Lynne Hyatt) We’ll recreate the popular TLC-network program, with the owner of “Lockett’s” in Columbus serving as our fashion consultant. Come get some tips on what looks great on you and “what not to wear”!
Peacemaking or Peacefaking – (Caron Fausel) This study will take you on a trip along the slippery slope of conflict. You’ll learn to handle conflicts in a God-pleasing way, turning your differences into a unifying experience that glorifies God.
Card Making – (Theresa Hill) Use pre-cut card stock, rubber stamps, die-cutting, and a variety of accessories to create three beautiful, layered greeting cards. An additional fee of $2 will be charged to cover the cost of materials.
Financial Peace University – (Shelli Carothers) Finances are not just for men! Dave Ramsey’s famous program helps you get control of your finances or debt. Learn what it means to “live like no one else so later you can LIVE like no one else”
After-Lunch Recreation Option
YogaFit – (Pippa Stam) A “Vinyasa-style” experience which links several poses to create strength, flexibility, and balance. We’ll focus on breathing techniques while working all parts of the body. Bring loose clothing, towel, and (if possible) mat.
Afternoon Sectionals
Paver Critters – (Diana VonStrohe) With a little paint and a few decorations, you can turn a patio paver into an adorable new holiday friend for your porch or yard. Please choose “Santa” or “Snowman” An extra fee of $7 will cover materials.
The Proverbial Woman – (Tracey Pike) One of our favorite sectional leaders helps you discover the Proverbs 31 woman. Find out how to find balance through being the woman God has created you to be.
Quick Recipes for Fall – (Jill Forster) Impress your family with fall recipes that can really take off the chill. We’ll make a pumpkin & black bean soup, white chicken chili, Asian cole slaw, and apple tart. Extra fee of $4 will cover all the samples.
Personal Quiet Time – (Brynne Schultz) This seminar focuses on practical ways to implement a quiet time with God, methods you can use to study the Bible, and the importance of prayer in the life of a Christian.
