Tentative Schedule (July 8-13, 2012)

• Sunday – Registration held between 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Group Building activities, Dinner, Recreation, and Devotions.
• Monday – Depart for Marengo Cave.  Set up camp.  Grounds orientation and Walking cave tour.
• Tuesday – Crawling cave trip through Marengo’s wild caves.  Prepare to get wet and muddy, but it will feel great compared to the heat outside!
• Wednesday – First of two days spent canoeing on Blue River.  We will be canoeing 11-19 miles (4-7 hours) during this part of the trip.
• Thursday – The second day of canoeing.  This will be spent on a different portion of the river with new scenery.
• Friday – We will spend our last day of the trip at Marengo Caves on a crawling tour through more wild caves.  Again, be prepared to get dirty!  Clean up, pack up, return to Camp Lakeview!

Lodging

Cave and Canoe Adventure campers will spend Sunday night in Mohegan Lodge at Camp Lakeview.  The remaining nights will be spent in cabins at Marengo Cave.  Campers should bring their own bedding (sleeping bags or blankets and sheets).  A Camp Lakeview counselor will be staying in the cabins with the campers.

Cost

The total cost for the Cave & Canoe Adventure cost is $295.  This combines Camp Lakeview’s program costs (staff, meals, etc.) with the cost of the outfitters, facilities, and supplemental program offered by Marengo Caverns and Cave Country Canoes.   Extra spending money may be brought along for extra snacks and/or souvenirs.
